Forty people from a range of organisations attended our Volunteer engagement day. Most speakers gave their time free-of-charge to provide information to our voluntary and community groups on a range of topics including volunteer recruitment and retention, communications and social media, timebanking, people with disabilities, the Job Centre, and so much more!

Our team supported the first Cancer Café in Yealmpton, alongside MacMillan Cancer Support, Mewstone PCN and other partners.

Over 17 people attended, who said that a cancer diagnosis can be a lonely journey and how useful it was to meet others going through this. Many of the attendees wanted an ongoing peer support group, so this will be taken forward by our team and Mewstone PCN.

Thanks to the Rose & Crown (‘the Rosie’) for hosting this event and for your ongoing support to the local community.
